I’ve researched a lot of the Aviation schools in Las Vegas and finally decided to give Vegas Aviation a try. They have a really nice fleet of C172’s, excellent rates, and very personable and knowledgeable CFIs. Many would say the same about their school of choice, however last night Vegas Aviation went above and beyond to help me and a friend out and now will forever have my support and business. Backstory: Aviation is tough! And sometimes we get stuck doing the same things over and over again. To break the cycle, I’ve been taking flight lessons at all the different places I visit. One of those places was SF. I met a really amazing CFI there and have become great friends! She was finally visiting me in my hometown, and I wanted to reciprocate her kindness and generosity by checking off a bucket list item (Night flight over Las Vegas). We scheduled a flight in advance, however due to some scheduling conflicts it looked like we weren’t going to get to go anymore 😞… I asked my old Vegas Aviation CFI, Ngaio if he knew anybody that could take us up last minute. He worked on a solution for us all night and the very next day .…. BOOM! A few hours later we were flying above the Vegas strip with the owner of Vegas Aviation! As a business owner myself, I have SO MUCH respect for Business owners who are willing to go above and beyond.The fact that Ngaio has this relationship with the owner, Louis speaks volumes! Louis was very personable and you could tell that he LOVES aviation! He was happy to be there and he took us on an amazing flight and shared extensive knowledge. Honestly, i feel like I’ve made a life long friend! Louis and Ngaio, THANK YOU so much for making this an unforgettable experience. Vegas Aviation will be my GO TO school and top recommendation for all my certificates and airplane maintenance needs! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

My son took his first discovery flight today. His instructor was Dorian, who was absolutely amazing. We were originally scheduled for a discovery flight two weeks ago and were second... read more in line for takeoff when an incoming plane declared an emergency, And landed on its belly. That shut down the airport for 12 hours, but wow, what a first experience that we got to see firsthand as we were second in line for takeoff when it happened. Dorian went through all of the emergency procedures and exactly what was happening with the tower With the airplane. That experience alone probably weighed more than his first flight today. Today's flight was about 45 minutes and it was absolutely beautiful. My son had the controls for half the time, including for takeoff and landing. Dorian was cool as a cucumber and made my son feel very safe and gave absolutely incredible instruction! If you're looking for a flight school, I would not look anywhere else!

I worked at Nellis AFB and My children were turned away from this flight school because we are not residents of Nevada; again the intent was to sign up for Discovery Flights. A policy that doesn't allow children the oppurtunity to fly in new environments (regardless of primary residence) defeats the purpose of a discovery flight! Little does Kevin know, these cadets could be stationed right at Nellis AFB! Update: (since I cant reply to the owner) Your website: WHAT IS A DISCOVERY FLIGHT? A Discovery Flight is an aviation experience where YOU actually get to take the controls and fly the airplane under the safety and guidance of our expert Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), followed by a post-flight summary briefing. Your flight time actually counts toward private pilot requirements and can be entered in your Pilot Log Book! I reached out to schedule and the email response was unprofessional and presumptive "we do not provide sightseeing flights". The "policy" mentioned in the owners response is not what is written on your website. Feedback: include on your website that you only make time for discovery flight for people who will also sign a contract to attend your flight school. That would be a more accurate description of your policy. Or, your representatives can ASK the customer what their intent is instead of assuming.

Due to strong winds, my flight with the instructor had to be cancelled, but was rescheduled without any problems for the next day where the winds were better. After the flight with the professional instructor Flore, I went up to Page via the Grand Canyon to experience the once in lifetime view. I will definitely come back again to go flying in the area. All the planes are kept in beautiful condition from the on site mechanics, with modern avionics in all of them. They just got another brand new training Cessna and a multi as well. The rates are also no doubt the best I’ve ever seen when it comes to what you get vs. what you pay per hour. Currently working on my instrument rating with my amazing instructor, Haylee Rolnick, who is amazing at what she does. The atmosphere is great and all the instructors and students are very friendly and helpful. If you’ve been looking at starting your training, I would definitely check out this flight school.

Growing up in Wyoming, I couldn’t have ever imagined I could become even a student pilot. This opportunity was given to me when I moved to Vegas, and was allowed... read more to collaborate with this incredible flight school. At 17 I’ve soloed, and even flown across state lines. It’s not easy, but the instructors here are extremely well trained no matter who you go with, and the maintenance team is always on top of their work. If there’s a problem with a plane, more often than not, it’s fixed by the next day. It’s a rarity here to have a shortage of aircraft (more than I can say for some other flight schools in the area I have experience with). If you’re having a day dreaming moment about becoming a pilot, or looking to make it a career, they do all sorts of ratings and certifications besides private, so take an introductory flight and go for it! It’s most definitely worth it.

As for the instructors , they really do have some great CFI’s to help you along if your serious about getting your license. I got to fly with Andrew in the beginning and he’s definitely knowledgeable and has real world experience flying for hire. He has a great approach and will condense material for you to where it’s easy to understand because learning something new can always be overwhelming. I am extremely disappointed with my experience here. I had spent thousands of dollars on training to ultimately leave empty handed. I had no issues initially, but as months went... read more by, several problems became evident. Unfortunately, scheduling became hard —— my instructor would ask me to continuously alter my own personal schedule to change a class already booked or change it without my confirmation, this is excluding any rescheduling due to weather. The changes in the schedule would be due to their poor planning or personal reasons of leave, these changes would be made the day of or day before when I would book my lessons in weeks of advance. It seemed that I was booking unnecessary lengthy lessons only to benefit the instructor for their personal flight hours. I was made to redo lessons that would cost me $500+ each time rather than taking a ground lesson to go over what I was missing, but as instructors do not log grounds they shy away from scheduling them with their students. The office staff was amazing and very helpful, complete opposite of the instructors. I was repeatedly encouraged to cram the material to pass the check ride rather than being proficient as a student. Finally, as my training was coming to an end, I was told I do not have the mental capacity, although, I had done numerous solo flights. The cheaper rates of this flight school became apparent with the quality of education.

This is by far the best flight school in Las Vegas. Stand by mechanics, professional staff, and most importantly, PASSIONATE flight instructors.
